Flower Power, Slackers! Explore Something New
Don't be a one-trick pony, Slackers! 🌸
Flowers aren't exactly my go-to subject, but that's no reason to ignore them.
I found an interesting floral arrangement and decided to spend some time exploring it with graphite, compressed charcoal, and crayon.
No finished painting in mind. No grand plan to become a flower painter.
Just getting familiar with the shapes, overlapping forms, and interesting relationships between the flowers and vase.
And you know what? I enjoyed the process. I like how these drawings turned out.
Does that mean I'm switching to floral paintings? Who knows, bro! Maybe a year from now I'll be the greatest flower painter on the planet. 😂
The point is to stay curious. Explore subjects outside your comfort zone and give yourself opportunities to discover something unexpected.
You don't have to know where an idea is going to enjoy exploring it.
